Here in Northern California, the autumn equinox arrives at 5:05 PM, that small, precise moment when we cross from one season into the next.
I love knowing that.
There is something grounding about realizing that a season doesn’t begin because the decorations come out, or because the weather finally cooperates, or because we managed to do all the things we had pictured.
It simply turns.
And we get to notice it.
I also know how quickly seasonal living can become another thing to manage.
The saved recipes. The crafts. The outings. The holidays. The traditions we want to remember. The things we think we should be doing while the season slips by anyway.
So this year, I wanted something simpler.
Your moment for today:
Choose one way you want to welcome fall.
That’s it.
Maybe you take a walk and look for the first signs that the season is changing. A fallen leaf?
Maybe you put apples in a bowl on the table
Maybe make something warm for dinner with squash
Maybe read a seasonal story
or maybe simply step outside at 5:05 and notice: fall is here.
You don’t have to do all of it. Just choose one small way to mark the turning.
A Simple Guide for the Season
I made a Welcome to Fall 2026 printable because I wanted one for our own house: one page where I could see the season at a glance, remember some of the dates and traditions coming up, and have a few small ideas for how we might meet them.
It includes the beginning of fall, seasonal touchpoints from September through November, and simple ways to begin.
It is not a fall bucket list.
You are not meant to do everything on it.
Pick what matters to you and yours. Add your own traditions. Ignore what doesn’t fit. Come back to it when you want a little spark.

One of the things I’m hoping to do with Small Moments · Full Life is carry a little of the planning weight for you - not by giving you more things to do, but by making the things you already want to do a little easier to begin.
So I would genuinely love to know:
What kind of seasonal help would make fall easier for you?
A simple calendar?
A few traditions to choose from?
Stories to read with children?
Recipes? Crafts? Gathering ideas?
Something completely different?
Hit reply and tell me. What you actually use and ask for will help shape what I make next.
For now, welcome to fall.
Pick one thing.
Let the rest wait.
